In Angers, Terra Botanica reveals the secrets of six centuries of plant history.
Indeed in the 15th century, King René, a lover of plants and flower gardens, introduced Mediterranean essences to Anjou. Then, the great explorers brought back many plants. These plants were cultivated in the gardens of the castles, along the Loire, then in the nurseries born in Angers in the 19th century. Today, the Loire Valley brings together a multitude of cultures that embellish our living environment.
Terra Botanica is at the heart of the plant capital and relates this long history of the journey of plants. Plant heritage and novelties are showcased with 500,000 plants from around the world.
